May, 2006
Been playing some
shows debuting some of the new "round sky" tracks live.
Check the live page for upcoming dates.
And I AM still at work
on the new album, "Round Sky." Working with friends
and really hoping to have a disc I can be proud of by mid summer
06.
9/11/05
Still hard at work on my new solo cd, "Round Sky" its
looking more and more like i'll be working with live drummers
for all the tracks as well as lots of other guests. Stay tuned
for more.
6/24/05
Things are hopping - In addition to my own music, I'm backing
my friend Dan Cray and we will definitely begin playing shows
within the next month or so.
Additionally I'm almost totally finished demoing the new solo
cd "Round Sky" and I'll definitely be making some changes
to the way I record on this one -its going to be a more straightfoward
rock record, there's going to be real drums from Mike Mirabella
and old bandmate Chuck Ferreira, and most likely someone more
talented on bass on a few of the tracks as well. Plus helping
hands and surprise guests galore including friends from beyond
id and scamper.
On top of all that I'm definitely going to be doing some solo
open mic spots over the coming months.
2/7/05
Back in form after a lost year at a soul sucking day job - February
2005: Tracking of the third CD (tentatively working-titled "Horseshoes
and Hand Grenades") is underway. Watch for a late 05
release.
Gigs with Dan Cray are on the horizon
7/7/04
Me and my brother mike are backing up Dan Cray this Thursday
at the Overdraught in Cambridge. Not only has there been no time
to rehearse but I'm hearing songs we're doing for the first time
this morning (show = 36 hours away) and mike probably wont hear
em at all... and none of the three of us have even been in a
room together with instruments in the last 9 months... this will
definitely be a ROCKing good time!!!!!

Got a new review for Breakheart Skyline by Jim Santo over at
Demo
universe.
Head over to CD
baby and grab a
copy of breakheart skyline today!
4/2/04
Some
friends of mine have started a great website concept - Justafan.org . Helping worthwhile
charities, making a statement about the music industry and thanking
a specific band - Wilco - for all the great work they've done.
Head over, check out the concept and make a donation to Doctors
Without Borders today!
2/24/04
Songs are being downloaded pretty numerously at soundclick so
thanks... don't forget to drop by http://www.cdbaby.com/mirabella and grab a full copy for the car!
Still working on that lost single and will either be in a semi-working
band or working hard on the next cd-project by summer.
12/10/03
Another small step thats pretty cool - Breakheart Skyline is
available at CDBaby.com!
Soundclick is going well and they have a
cool charts and review ranking system...get over there and check
me out, vote Hot for the songs and get me up those charts!
12/3/03
I managed to transfer everything to Soundclick.com before mp3
went bellyup so I still offer everything as a free download.
In a day or so I'll also have CDs for sale at CD baby.com and
trust me - they sound much better on a full CD in a car or stereo
than only listening at the computer. So get em while the gettin's
good.
12/2/03
After racking up over 8,200 listens and getting my CDs out to
over 320 people over the past few years while there - today is
the last day to check me out at mp3.com
11/27/03
Riversong Dawn is now posted at Garageband.com for general reviews and abuse.
Go see what people think.
11/26/03
Many songs are now posted for free download at SoundClick.com to take over after mp3.com goes down. CDs should
now be ordered direct from Dave,
email for info
on how to order.
11/18/03
Revelry and fun in the studio was interupted by the news that
MP3.com will cease to be on December 1, 2003 after yet another
corporate buyout. Never fear - there are still plenty of CDs
to order directly from me by mail and I'll find a comperable
place to set up shop soon enough. bad news aside... there will
definitely be a new page with mp3's here by december and the
ep/single will be available by the new year -
Also, just before they stopped taking in new songs, I managed
to post a few older ones up to mp3.com so get over there before
they fold on december 1 and check them out... they are 3 songs
I recorded all the way back in Winter 95-96 in a studio in Rhode
Island with Rich Eisner on Drums... good stuff.
10/27/03
heading into the studio in two weeks and the ep will be out by
december... Still at work on the Dan Cray/Dave album and starting
to decide that holding off till next year for my 3rd solo disc
is too long so I'll probably be at work on it by Feb for a summer
release....plus gigs. still planning more open mics and looking
into putting something more club-worthy together as well....
lots happening I guess.
9/15/03
Small step for mankind, GIANT step for Dave... I just got in
from my first ever solo performance...I got cheers, no one threw
beer on me and I lived through it. There will definitely be more.
Open Mic type stuff for now but its a lot of fun. Also still
heading into the studio soon for that single which will be out
by Halloween.
7/25/03
Added cover art for the Wilco Tribute CD
7/19/03
Sexy new photo eh? (blech.)
6/17/03
look for the hidden page that has returned to the site!
6/12/03
Lots going on as usual... gave the site some new summer colors...
working on tunes and still working towards getting on stage.
Breakheart Skyline had a nice little spring run on the charts
and I thank you all for listening. Also I just found out that
tracks are getting played on a radio show in Austrailia!
4/29/03
Thanks for listening! Most Songs from Breakheart Skyline have
suddenly entered the top 10 of their respective genres at mp3.com
and CDs are selling... I appreciate it!
4/21/03
Dave is heading into a studio soon to record a single for release
by summer along with a couple of other new tracks!
"Cliche'" is now climbing the review charts
at garageband.com.
Dave's
cover of "Poor Places" from I'm the Fan Who Loves You- A tribute to
Wilco" is now at mp3.com
3/25/03
Made it up to 63 in the genre on GB and 1091 in the round.. pretty
dmn good -thanks for the reviews. Watch Mp3.com over the next
month as there may be a few old surprises getting posted soon.
3/14/03
Still Climbing at GB.com and the track from the Wilco Tribute
is now posted to Mp3.com
3/5/03
moving up the charts at garageband.com!! thanks for the reviews!
2/27/03
** Accoustic shows on the horizon and plans for some full band
work with Rich Eisner being talked about.
1/22/03
**New Site design!
**Plus: a Wilco web community called via chicago is putting together a tribute
CD to wilco tentatively titled "I'm the Fan Who Loves You"
and Dave is recording his version of "Poor Places"
from Yankee hotel Foxtrot for the project due late spring/early
summer.
*Also the art page is now up featuring a rotating series from
Ryan Hannus.
1/16/03
I'll be adding a page of additional artwork by Ryan Hannus (and
maybe others) for your viewing pleasure...more to come!
1/7/03
This is something I would rather not have a part in if not for
Ryan's great artwork but I have a deal with a merchadise co.
to sell Daveware... t-shirts, stickers, etc. Its not my desire
to have people walk around with my name across their chest (well,
then again...) but the illustration is beautiful and since I'm
turning into a comercial whore anyways check it out at http://www.cafeshops.com/daveware
12/30/02
Getting the set together and planning on hitting the stage as
a solo act for the first time very soon. Also have about a quarter
of what will likely be the first Dan Cray-Dave Mirabella collaboration
CD written and being worked out. Also - our stats have let us
know that we are getting LOTS of listens from Europe and Asia.
Very cool to find out about - so for anyone who ends up here
from near or far away, welcome and thanks! After a brief holiday
break we'll be busy in the coming months getting the word out
about the CD!
CONTEST
The person to send in a photo of either of Dave's CDs being held
up in front of the weirdest thing wins a free CD of thier
choice . Take your photo and send it via email
and
we'll post it to the site and pick a winner in January! |
12/20/02
The CD is out and I couln't be happier with it (well unless it
was recorded in a studio, etc) but its solid and done and out,
the timing bums me out cause I didn't want another "winter"
CD but what happens, happens... It seems that I'm the only moron
who attaches such seasonal significance to the release of albums
anyway. I won't be able to update for a week or so, so please
help the site fresh by signing the guestbook! I am definitely
working on a live solo set at this point and making a newyrs
resolution to get my fat ass onstage so I will,... merry merry,
happy happy and enjoy!
12/18/02
The full CD has been uploaded to Mp3 and should be available
by thursday afternoon. The cover art looks great! While I encourage
people to listen online for free, the sound quality on the printed
CD is much better and the tracking of the CD flows so well that
I can't imaging not hearing it on actual CD.
12/16/02
OK we're in business... got the cover art (it looks amazing!)
and as soon as I can get at my boss' scanner we'll have a CD
to post! Also Added a new guestbook with less popups, garbage,
etc. than the old one. Sign away!
12/11/02
Heard a finished pressing of the CD today and it sounds great
- the final version should be up by the 18th and then its a short
holiday break followed by a promotion frenzy and (should we find
a stage that can hold me) - shows??... Also new songs are already
being sketched out for the 3rd album or the Dan&Dave album
depending on what Dan likes.
12/5/02
The CD is done but without a cover until early next week. Then
it'll be up and I'll be emailing like crazy to say so!
11/20/02
Songs are starting to be posted to mp3.com for previewing before
the CD is done next week.
11/12/02
"Breakheart Skyline" is days away from completion.
It has been a blast to record and is running around 50 minutes.
(watch out for the 9 minute song!) Watch the site for information
about the actual date of availablity.
10/02
For those of you who liked Magnets, the last collaboration between
Dave and Dan Cray, there has been more talk about that possible
upcoming full CD project by the both of us - something I am VERY
much looking forward to. As soon as we finish our current projects
we'll lock ourselves away in a studio and get to it!
9/02
Redesigned the site in anticipation of a visitor or two in the
fall when the new cd is done. Please - if you end up here via
wrong turn or otherwise - sign the guestbook... (yes i'm feeling
needy today) Seriously though, the CD is almost completely demo'ed
and is still on track for November.
8/02
Been a summer with too little time for music work - but songs
are begining to be recorded for my next CD - which will be more
of a live accousitc sound - fewer overdubs and barring anything
unexpected - should be done by November. Also Added some very
unpolished rough
artwork I've cooked
up in photoshop a few nights lately.
4/18/02
Warm weather and inspiration abounds. Songs are being written
for the next CD. Still hoping to get on stage in the next couple
of months!
3/6/02
Plans are in the works for some warm weather gigs. Also there
has been talk of an entire album of Dave and Dan Cray collaborations.
Stay tuned for more!
2/25/02
Songs from Drudge Songs are in the top 50 of almost all the genres
they represent at the website Mp3.com. Several songs are hovering just
outside the top 10! Thanks for the support!
2/15/02
